How is the performance compared to native linux games? If there is a noticable lag I wouldn't like it.
Well, the old games are usually not performance bound in modern machines, i.e., when they work, they work well (for the small sample of games I actually play).
I'm curious, since my windows-using friends at work are telling me I simply have to check out half-life.
Somehow I never manage to get HL working under wine (I must be the only linux user that couldn't do it), but I hear it works pretty well. I used to play it under windows, and it was a pretty solid game, indeed. It may be a little dated by now, though.
IIRC they were raving about half life 2 - isn't that a bit more recent? Joe
