Hi all, after an upgrade of KDE to version 3.4 via Yast the "sux" script seems broken. The typical error looks like that: micha@Moehre:~> sux Password: Moehre:/home/micha # xeyes Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server Xlib: Protocol not supported by server Error: Can't open display: :0.0 An "xhost +" remedies this problem, but the purpose of the sux script is to avoid disabling acces control, I suppose. I'm using Suse 9.1. After the update I cleaned up /tmp and ran the genkdmconfig script. Anybody has a similar problem and knows how to solve it? Thanks in advance, Michael -- Michael Schmuker University of Frankfurt Chair of Cheminformatics

I have *no* problem with sux and KDE 3.4 with SuSE 9.0. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery
Hi all, Thanks a lot for your help! I had to log out of X, delete .Xauthority in my home directory AND in /root, log in once as root in KDE. Now sux is working again! Thanks again, Michael -- Michael Schmuker University of Frankfurt Chair of Cheminformatics

I've got 9.1 fully updated, and just did an sux without any problem. Unfortunately I don't know how to solve it, and I have not done "xhost +"
