Kmail does not delete email from server
Hi All! I am using Kmail 1.5.4 (part of KDE 3.1.4) with several POP3 accounts. With a couple I a shell account, I can see that the email is not being deleted. Other than checking the box "Delete mail from server" should I be doing something else? Could this be a server problem? This problem has been going on for a long time and I have posted to lists before but have never gotten an answer. I have googled many times and the answer has always been to set it in Settings->Configure KMail->Network, which I have. Either this bug has been there for years or I am doing something wrong. I know not which. Any help is greatly appreaciated. Regards, jimmo -- --------------------------------------- "Be more concerned with your character than with your reputation. Maybe you did not get any answers, because your kmail version is too old and that bug, if it is one, has been fixed. Have you tried upgrading? Current KDE is 3.4 and SuSE provides RPMs for upgrading. Sven

I originally posted it about two years ago and I have gone through multiple versions of KDE since then and the problem still exists. I have not yet tried in with KDE 3.4. Does it work as I expect? I use SuSE 9.1 Pro with stock KDE 3.2 and Kmail 1.6.2 and it deletes the email from the server. This may be obvious, but make sure that "Delete messages from server after fetching" (in Receiving Mail) is checked. Other things to check is if this happens with other mail clients? Also, maybe telnet into your mail server and issue the commands manually to see if they cause an error? Check the .xsession-errors and various log files and see if kmail is giving any error messages. -- Alvin Please reply to only this mailing-list. Thanks.
