So now a stupid question why / what about Factory http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Desktop/openS USE_11.2/i586/ as today 4.3.3 inside
and STABLE as 4.3.4 ?
KKFD is the development repo for KDE "next openSUSE". It's waiting to move to KDE 4.4 beta1 shortly. This decision was announced as part of the last meeting minutes.
I'm ok with this, just a big surprise, that it doesn't contain firstly package going to STABLE. Otherwise, how can we pre-test them ? Are them used one days, or we just spend our contributing time for nothing. In a normal process dev, it was supposed ( factory -> stable , but perharps only in my mind :-)
sorry but the hell's repositories is somewhere ... :-)
How about sticking to the official, supported packages if you think it's too much trouble to manage the OBS repos. Only your own upgraditis is inflicting this "hell" on you.
Well sometimes, we need things working, take Networkmanger for example. Until recently, (last few days) to help Will to debug it I need to have some 11.2 normal installation (for checking than upgrades works for normal users). Have one with STABLE to check it was working with it ... But I was working with Factory (that was before 11.2 release date) to try making it working before release. And now other installation with Factory, just to be sure the next release doesn't goes to regression. What could make confusion is the following -> KKFD is the development repo for KDE "next openSUSE" So normally you should only found a build for Factory ( next opensuse ) but there's build for the last 3 opensuse. I agree it's just a mess. :-) Perharps, I've not yet a simple schematic draw of the flow of distribution/repositories/kde release.
