I've installed this from http://www.tjansen.de/krfb/ and it works great except for one thing: I've got two NICs in my machine, one for DSL and one for the inside network. When I go to create an invitation, it always specifies the outside NIC's address, even if I don't have my DSL connected. Anyone compiled QT 3.05 for 7.3 yet?

Hi all, Those of us using < 8.0 have been frustrated with SuSE's foolish policy decision to disable anti-aliasing in KDE 3.02+. Annoyed, I tried to compile QT from the SRPM but keep getting error messages. Has anyone compiled QT and is knowledgeable enough to package in RPM. I'd much rather do this than have to mess around w/make, etc. If not, I'll try to compile it and post one for everyone. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! 8.0 pkgs in 7.3

Well, I tried an experiment. I installed QT from the 8.0 update directory onto my 7.3 system and you know what. *laugh* They work and fonts are kickass..and my icons aren't jagged anymore. I've opened up a lot of KDE programs to see if they would error or something. They didn't. They work fine. I installed these pkgs from the supplamentry 8.0 directory. qt3-3.0.5-46.rpm qt3-devel-3.0.5-46.rpm qt3-extensions-3.0.5-60.rpm qt3-non-mt-3.0.5-60.rpm qt3-static-3.0.5-37.rpm I don't know if all were needed ..to tell ya the truth. I guessed..but I appear to have guess correctly. Dock Applets

Some of the vis plugins in xmms say they are dock applets. Does this mean they can be put into the kde and gnome pannels? Problems with KDE3

Hi. I have SuSE 7.2 with KDE2.2.1 and I update to KDE3.0.3. My problem is that in KDE2.2.1 I have a propertirs of install software, update software, etc ... but in KDE3 this propertirs I don't have. but when I write in konsole "yast2" I see the form of yast2. Can you help me ;) Thanks a lot

Unwanted Application Starter Menu Items

For some reason KDE adds some recently started applications (some with very long names) to the top of my application starter menu. I find it somewhat annoying to have "stretched menus". Is there a way I can choose not to have my most recent visited applications to show up on the top of my application starter menu? Is there a way that I can delete the existing add ons? kmail. Deleting messages on server

Hi, Any body know if there is a way to delete messages into the server, (without receiving them) when they are greater than a certain prefixed size? ( Outlook express has this feature among the filter's rules). I'm using kmail ver. 1.2, with kde ver. 2.1.2 Thank you, Toni

I reinstalled and "upgraded" (Server was Mandrake 8.1 now is Mandrake 8.2) on my server and now have no reiser file systems at all. I tried mounting and then browsing a SMB share and after moving 2 folders deep the konqueror window died. Same problem as before. Which leads me to believe this an issue with my KDE on my workdtation, not the server. KDE 3.0.0 -> 3.0.3 update problem...

Good day, SuSE 8.0 Professional. How do I manually update KDE 3.0.0 to the latest 3.0.3? I get a dependency problem on the very first package. I just got the latest KDE-packages from .../suplementary The KDE homepage supscribes that I should first install qt, then arts, then kdelibs3. The SuSE homepage supscribes that I should update using rpm -U So I log in as root and try to update qt3: linux:~/Desktop/KDE303/Binary/base # rpm -U qt3-3.0.5-46.rpm error: failed dependencies: qt3 = 3.0.3 is needed by qt3-non-mt-3.0.3-14 qt3 = 3.0.3 is needed by qt3-devel-3.0.3-15 linux:~/Desktop/KDE303/Binary/base # I think that perhaps the two mentioned packages should first be updated from 3.0.3 to 3.0.5, so I try: linux:~/Desktop/KDE303/Binary/development # rpm -U qt3-non-mt-3.0.5-60.rpm error: failed dependencies: qt3 = 3.0.5 is needed by qt3-non-mt-3.0.5-60 linux:~/Desktop/KDE303/Binary/development # It seems like a kind of a circular dependency problem. I can't upgrade qt3-3.0.3 to qt3-3.0.5 because some other 3.0.3-packages depend on qt3-3.0.3 - but I can't upgrade the other 3.0.3-packages to 3.0.5 because their 3.0.5-packages depend on qt3-3.0.5 Now I'm lost, and I actually don't get it. Can anyone tell me how I'm supposed to pull this update off manually? Please be gentle. I'm not the most technical person around. Best regards Johnny :o)

SuSEconfig.susewm errors during update...

Good day, SuSE Linux 8.0 Professional. When I manually update KDE base from 3.0.0 to 3.0.3 and then run SuSEconfig i get the following: Executing /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.susewm... SuSEwm: ERROR: wmaker: no name defined ! SuSEwm: ERROR: wmaker: no name defined ! SuSEwm: ERROR: wmaker: no name defined ! SuSEwm: ERROR: wmaker: no name defined ! SuSEwm: ERROR: wmaker: no name defined ! SuSEwm: ERROR: wmaker: no name defined ! Executing /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.xdm... What does that mean? After updating /development and /applications (where the same errors occur when I run SuSEconfig), windowmaker is no longer in KDM's session drop down. I can easily add it using the KDE control panel. Should I be worried? Best regards Johnny :o)
