You are correct - it is the rpm release versions in G:S:2.30 that are earlier than in 11.3. Which means that if you simply add G:S:2.30 repo, then "zypper up" (or yast) won't install anything from it until the rpm release version in G.S.2.30 finally catches up with what was released on the dvd.
It's recommended to do zypper dup when using G:S:2.30, though, so it shouldn't be a big issue. See http://old-en.opensuse.org/GNOME/2.30
Also, I thought that G.S.2.30 was supposed to be based on Gnome packages from released 11.3 (i.e. initially seeded with 11.3 packages). Is that not the case?
It is, afaik.
Sorry for being dense, but why are there differences in rpm release versions between 11.3 and G.S.2.30 if G.S.2.30 was seeded from the same rpm packages as 11.3? Vadym -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org
