Hi, I've took a look at Ray Strode's plymouth integration patch for Fedora and made 2 small changes into it (unnecessary entries, includes applied by previous patches on gdm). It's in attach. I don't know if it helps at later stages. DimStar could you please take a look into it? It does build against Factory, but I have no knowledge to really understand the changes code wise. There's some aditional documentation about it in this pages, amongst other things. I'm still patching other software to test the wanted behavior later on. Hi all, Since last GNOME 2.32 update that Empathy on my box seems not to be able to register 'persona's' thus automatically disconnects from MSN service. (Google Chat does work fine though). I've reverted back to pidgin and also packaged a small plugin that uses webkit to deliever support for Adium styles. Should I submit it to GNOME:Apps or any other better alternatives? Hi, We are planning to have a small irc meeting, where we want to discuss about: Plans for openSUSE GNOME in the openSUSE conference 2010. So, if you have any suggestions for hackfest, talks, pet-peeves-fix-workshop, ice-cream-deathmatch etc. Please propose it in the meeting. The meeting will happen in the usual #openSUSE-gnome irc channel, at our usual meeting time 1330 UTC, on October 7th 2010. I thought 1330 is a round number and easy to remember. I am fine with the time change though. We arrived at 1330 because it was the only time that seem to suit our geographically diverse community across US, Mexico, Oz, Europe, India, France* etc. Any late than this might be very late for Captain_Magnus. [opensuse-gnome] GDM Active Directory Integration Question

Hello, I am trying to set the default login type to use Winbind by setting the default domain when DISPLAYMANAGER_AD_INTEGRATION="yes" in /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager, but I cannot seem to do so. Basically, I want it so users can simply type their AD username and password into GDM without being forced to select the domain each time. I have searched high and low, but I cannot seem to find out how to do this. ANY comments are appreciated. [opensuse-gnome] Removing a few apps from the default install

Hi, I was looking at the default install of GNOME in Milestone 1, and came up with a list of things that, I think, we should not install by default. Comments welcome! - multisync-gui: the UI is just horrible. I can't belive we ship a tool like this by default. - deskbar-applet: we ship gnome-do by default, so no real need to ship deskbar too. - gftp: most people don't need to use ftp. Then a good part of people who need to use ftp are happy with nautilus. I'd argue that it's not really needed. - ekiga: the people who use SIP will know about it and will install it. The other people (majority) just don't care. Note that it's quite big on the livecd (since libpt and opal are big). (I'm not 100% sure on this one) - xchat: we ship empathy with irc support by default.
