Does anyone know why the "vga" settings were removed from the Tumbleweed Yast Boot loader? Plymouth needs the "vga" settings for initrd otherwise you get the three question marks.
Any thoughts before I make a bug report.
Plymouth is taboo here, so I can't check. However, WRT the vttys, if that's what your Plymouth concern is, video= on kernel cmdline equates in effect to what vga= does, except the kernel retains the mode video= declared for framebuffer use, rather than overruling the mode vga= produced. vga= is actually a special switch intended for bootloader use, which non-modesetting kernels just happened to inherit. Since kernels have been modesetting all the way back to around 11.3, vga= really hasn't belonged in YaST bootloader for a very long time. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
