Why do you need to do that?
Andreas.
It doesn't work and I just want to remove the entry.
Of course it doesn't do anything, that's the point of it. In which way does it matter?
Andreas.
It does. Once a user gets their card working (I'm using Intel) the dummy output should be removed. I like the column clean without faded entries.
How is that different from the other entries for inactive devices, that may be reactivated on hotplug?
Andreas.
That is a different story.
I would understand if I had two or three audio devices. Since I have a single Intel audio chip on my motherboard and the "dummy output" is useless to me. It doesn't work.!
The user should have the option of removing it in Plasma 5. As I mentioned in my last response about KDE4, adding the "pulse" group to my user name and a reboot should have fixed it. IMHO It's a bug.
I don't see this problem in GNOME only KDE.
A great example is the Yast Printer module. It detects my HP printer provides a driver for selection. Once the set up has finished I see my printer name. Nice and clean.
Why not have this for the audio section?
Cheers!
