And if that "plugin" requires of samba-client-32bit, shouldn't its package have that dependency? Just a heads-up, since I've been told people don't pay much attention to the games project: I sent an SR for opengl-games-utils[0] yesterday that I need before pushing it to factory, which I need to push vegastrike to factory. [opensuse-factory] complicated are the ways of god unknown the ones of nvidia! or testing grub2-efi

Hi, I am testing the grub2-efi from factory on an exotic machine... I have installed the grub2-efi as prescribed and got it running... generated a nice cfg (attached) file and hit the run button... Now I want to be able to run my laptop in two modes A. with the laptop screen only B. with an external display only. this was relatively easy before... I just have my nice xorg.conf (attach) with refit I have no issues to get what I want... now grub2... case B I obtain without issue... I plug my screen, start the machine... all the boot process takes place on the external screen (an improvement compared with refit when only the X was started on the external all the pre-X stuff was on the LCD.) If I start my machine without the external screen plugged I get a black screen. I can access the machine via ssh, and I can see the failures of Xorg(.0.log.old attached). I have checked and I tried to see what happens but with no success... to make things even more complicated I tried with nouveau and it works in scenario A but not in scenario B... The problem with nouveau is that the quality is so poor, in two aplications that I use quite a lot that is not a real option. Now I tested few more things... external screen plugged && laptop lid open result black screen external screen unplugged && laptop lid open result black screen external screen unplugged && laptop lid closed result black screen external screen plugged && laptop lid closed result happiness... Any suggestions? I have added a successful xorg log too.. [opensuse-factory] Latest flash player is broken

Hi! With the latest version of Adobe flash player 11.2 I have all colors in videos (for example in YouTube) inverted. Once the version reverted to 11.1 the problem disappears. [opensuse-factory] Grub2 status update (from milestone 2 till now)

It has been a while since Grub2 as default bootloader in Milestone 2. Let me update (summary) some progress here during this time frame. Welcome if you have any suggestion. New features: * Loader option dialog will be available for customing Grub2/Grub2-EFI's config (/etc/default/bootloader). Most of these options are inherited from Grub1 and listed them below. My expectation is it would be next milestone, if the review get positive outcome (Steffen is reviewing the changes, it may take some time as the modificaiton is a bit much) activate: set the active flag of installed partition (not available for grub2-efi) generic_mbr: copy generic mbr boot code to mbr (not available for grub2-efi and not effect if installed to mbr) default: set default bootloader entry. Only available bootloader entries would be listed for selection. append: append kernel parameters to kernel. During install it will detect resume=* and will also inherit the parameters you specify during installation (like console= vga= ..) timeout: set boot menu time out hiddenmenu: check to hide the boot menu, uncheck to disable vgamode: kernel parameter vga=*, detected via vbe extension serial: check to enable serial console, uncheck to use text/gfx console serial_args: args pass to serial (like: "serial --unit=0 --speed=11520" ) TODOs * Graphical boot menu: Current plan is 1. list of all modes and use highest (from fbresolution or vbemode output) as default, for selection in options dialog 2. use background image (instead of grub2's theme), default to the path of opensuse background .. need to decide the path and the art work, or could we reuse any Polymouth image, Raymond ? For 1, the concern for me is that fbresoltuin make yast2 bootloader to depend on splash package and vbemode may not detect some special native mode (but we can reuse vgamode in yast for detecting the modes). * AutoYaST with Grub2 I am now testing this and did observe some issues, will file to BZ and discuss with Uwe. Bugs: Thanks for many people's participate and help in trouble-shooting, we got more grub2 issue reported than before. Summary them and status report here: = Open: [Bug 753889] grub2: Sorts "previous" kernel versions in wrong order [Bug 755137] /usr/bin/grub2-kbdcomp bash script requires missing application ckbcomp [Bug 751835] Gnome Live CD for Build 241 missing 2 GRUB2 files. Hi List-Mates, As you for sure heard and read by now, we prepared X.org 1.12.1 packages in X11:XOrg, where some short stabilization time is running and submission to Factory is being prepared. Due to the heavy splitting work, this is now a lot of small 'new' packages entering Factory, which will probably take a while. Anyway: if you feel the urge to test X 1.12.1 before it enters Factory, and you feel like you'd want to report errors on those packages before the big masses will see them in one of the upcoming snapshot, GREAT! Get X11:XOrg enabled. One heads up already at this point though: If you have a synaptics touch pad: the current driver version in X11:XOrg does not like you to touch your pad: X will just reset. A Fix is pending review and should land there soon. That makes one down... probably many more to go (Please report bugs in bugzilla.. feel free to CC me on them, if you work with X 1.12.1 packages; I won't be able to fix them all, as I am in no way accustomed to X.Org, but having worked a good part on those packages, I still feel somewhat responsible now.. shame :P ) Let the tests begin... now!
