[Bug 484180] New: "kernel NULL pointer dereference" while discovering iSCSI targets
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=484180 Summary: "kernel NULL pointer dereference" while discovering iSCSI targets Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SLES 10 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: Ulrich.Windl@rz.uni-regensburg.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Created an attachment (id=278660) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=278660) syslog showing NULL-pointer dereference User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.19) Gecko/20081213 SUSE/1.1.14-1.1 SeaMonkey/1.1.14 During iSCSI target discovery, iscsiadm stopped to make any progress after having discovered a few targets. Syslog recorded a kernel problem: Mar 2 10:36:27 host5 kernel: Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at 0000000000000232 RIP: Mar 2 10:36:27 host5 kernel: <ffffffff802ba089>{inet_sendmsg+23} Mar 2 10:36:27 host5 kernel: PGD 0 Mar 2 10:36:27 host5 kernel: Oops: 0000 [1] SMP Mar 2 10:36:27 host5 kernel: last sysfs file: /class/iscsi_connection/connection22:0/exp_statsn Mar 2 10:36:27 host5 kernel: CPU 3 [...] The problem happened in a XEN configuration (Domain0). Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Configure iSCSI targets on multiple hosts Actual Results: Occasionally things don't work. The machine needs a reboot to recover. Expected Results: Bad things should not happen (i.e. a reboot of the machine should be avoidable) I'll attach the relevant part of the syslog and a decoded Oops. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
