[Bug 959628] New: kaffeine doesn't disable power management when watching movie
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=959628 Bug ID: 959628 Summary: kaffeine doesn't disable power management when watching movie Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.1 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE Applications Assignee: opensuse-kde-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: axel.braun@gmx.de QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- After upgrade form 13.1 to Leap I noticed, that kaffeine is not disabeling the power management settings anymore when watching a movie. That leads to the effect that suddenly the screen dims and the screensaver/login screen appears. Was not the case in KDE 4.14.10 (prior to Plasma5) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

-> Black screen, no movie
Install vlc-codecs, or try with some free format like OGG/Theora. Anyway, I tested it myself meanwhile, and kaffeine 1.3.1 does correctly disable Plasma5's screen locker, and it, vlc rather, is displayed by the powermanagement plasmoid as inhibiting powersaving. So the issue is specific to Kaffeine 1.2.x. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

A package vlc-codec is not in the standard distribution (neither packman).
The package is called vlc-codecs and it is available in Packman. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
