Anyway, I tested it myself meanwhile, and kaffeine 1.3.1 does correctly disable Plasma5's screen locker, and it, vlc rather, is displayed by the powermanagement plasmoid as inhibiting powersaving. So the issue is specific to Kaffeine 1.2.x.
