if you tell me that you are using the current liveCD my question is
already answered :) The current live setup uses a compressed image
which is mounted via aufs and provides write access via a standard
tmpfs mount
According to the kernel documentation on tmpfs the system should use
up to 50% of your physical RAM for the tmpfs as I don't set any size
parameter when mounting the tmpfs
Compared to your report this is what you want to achieve so I'm wondering
what the problem is ? Does the tmpfs mount not use up to half of your
physical RAM ?
Could you check the mount list after you have booted the liveCD ?
