https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=396165 Summary: dhcpcd does not correctly use MAC address of network interface for ClientID Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: RC 1 Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: markgray+to-suse@puck.nac.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Beta-Customer Unlike previous versions, the dhcpcd used for 11.0 does not correctly use the MAC address of the network interface for ClientID by default, causing it to get a different IP address than previous openSUSE releases. (NetworkManager uses dhclient and gets the same address as previous openSUSE releases.) The easiest solution I found is to specify the ClientID in the /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth* file by adding the following line: DHCLIENT_CLIENT_ID="01:00:14:6C:72:E1:19" Where 00:14:6C:72:E1:19 is my MAC address. I will supply my logs if you are unable to reproduce the problem. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
