https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=463086 Summary: Occasional system freeze during shutdown/reboot Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: alexander.koenig@koenig-a.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- I upgraded three different computers to openSUSE 11.1, one 64-bit system from 11.0 and two 32-bit systems from 10.3. I use KDE4 on the 64-bit system and KDE3 on the 32-bit systems. On all three systems I observe occasional system freeze close to the end of the shutdown process. If the splashscreen is on, I cannot switch anymore to the text console via ESC, the progress bar is at 100% (as far as I can see, or at least close to 100%). In case of shutdown no power-off is performed, in case of reboot I need to press the reset button to continue. If I switch off the splashscreen before the (potential) freeze, the last message on the screen before standstill is either "Sending all processes the TERM signal" or "System will be shutdown immediately". I suspect that the problem is related to the unmount problem reported in bug 462755 (hardware information can be found there), but I am not sure. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
