Hi, I was debugging a hwinfo crash yesterday and I found this bug report.
Actually I'm using Arch Linux. But anyway, hwinfo crashes because of a syscall
to syslog. It passes a buffer size of 0x2000 but actually 0x2048 chars got
written (in my case), overwriting the stack sentinel.
It seems that it's a kernel bug related to some recent changes in
kernel/printk.c. I found this:
http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git;a=commit;h=e375...
I guess that might fix it, but I haven't tested it yet. That's in the mainline
kernel; I'm running stable 3.5.3.
In the hope that it's useful... L8rs
