https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=797665 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=797665#c0 Summary: YaST insists on UTC with Windows present Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.2 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: dfreeman@ieee.org QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:17.0) Gecko/17.0 Firefox/17.0 I have installed Windows 7 after installing openSUSE 12.2. Hardware clock keeps reverting to UTC, as mentioned in other bugs. This is slowly making me homicidal :) Now, when I uncheck the UTC box in YaST2, I get the message: "You selected local time, but only Linux seems to be installed on your system. In such case, it is strongly recommended to use UTC, and to click Cancel. If you want to keep local time, you must adjust the CMOS clock twice the year because of Day Light Saving switches. If you miss to adjust the clock, backups may fail, your mail system may drop mail messages, etc. If you use UTC, Linux will adjust the time automatically. Do you want to continue with your selection (local time)?" Frankly, this is rubbish. Please revert all changes relating to UTC vs local time since 12.1. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install openSUSE 12.2 2. Try to use it 3. Become angry Actual Results: Broken OS Expected Results: Great OS -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
