Yes and no.
First, the ASUS ACPI driver heavily changed. As far as I know, it now does no
longer needs a list of supported devices but does detect supported machines
automatically.
Secondly, there were reports for 10.3 regarding the Samsung P35 which -- if I
recall correctly -- reported the brightness handling to work fine. I have to
dig a little deeper in order to find the corresponding report(s).
Third, this bug might have something in common with bug #304162 . It is about
broken brightness events for ASUS laptops.
Danny, the Samsung P35 historically was always supported by the ASUS ACPI
driver -- don't ask why ;-) It just happened to have the same ACPI
implementation as ASUS laptops. All other Samsung laptops are _not_ supported
by the ASUS ACPI driver.
