--- Comment #10 from Reinhard Max 2012-11-19 10:41:09 CET ---
Ah - now I remember why I used
Obsoletes: postgresql-devel < %version
The devel package is the only one of which only one version can be installed at
a time, i.e. postgresql91-devel and postgresql92-devel cannot coexist whereas
all other respective *91* and *92* subpackages can.
I guess I need a new virtual capability for that, which doesn't interfere with
the implicit provides of the postgresql-devel dummy package:
%package -n %pgname-devel
Provides: postgresql-devel-exclusive = %version
Conflicts: postgresql-devel-exclusive != %version
With Conflicts on other versions rather than Obsoletes on smaller versions,
users have choice what version of PostgreSQL they want to build against (more
important for server extensions than for client code).
Thoughts? Suggestions? Objections?
