https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=401896 Summary: OpenSuSE not booting with ACPI after upgrade to 2.6.22.18.0.2 Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: machala.m@seznam.cz QAContact: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- On Acer 2304LC laptop after the update of the kernel from 2.6.22.17.0.1 to 2.6.22.18.0.2 (released recently) the system hangs immediately after the grub menu leaving the screen blank with no output. Using ACPI=off boot option in grub makes the system boot OK. Downgrading kernel back to 2.6.22.17.0.1 resolves the issue and the system boots properly with ACPI again. Unfortunately as stated above there's no output while the system hangs so I cannot offer any details. Are there any changes to ACPI in 2.6.22.18.0.2? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
