We (i.e. openSUSE) distribute HP's HPLIP software
but we do not develop it.
In case of issues with HPLIP please report them directly to HP via
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/support.html
when threre are issues with HP's HPLIP software
that are not caused by openSUSE.
In particular when an issue depends on the printer model
there is basically nothing what we cand do because we
do not have the particular model to reproduce the issue.
In contrast when you report your particular issue directly to HP
there is a direct communication between you and the upstream authors.
Preferably post an URL to your upstream issue report here
as reference.
FYI:
Perhaps the issue is caused by two "Media Size" entries in the PPD file
for your print queue /etc/cups/ppd/Officejet-6100.ppd
Perhaps the issue is already fixed in the newest HPLIP version?
Regarding the newest HPLIP version for openSUSE:
Currently we provide HPLIP 3.15.2 as RPM packages
"hplip", "hplip-hpijs", and "hplip-sane"
for various openSUSE and Suse Linux Enterprise versions
in the "Printing" development project in the openSUSE build service
for 32-bit i586 and 64-bit x86_64 architecture.
E.g. for openSUSE 13.2 64-bit x86_64
from this direct RPM package download URL
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Printing/openSUSE_13.2/x86_64/
Please read
https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=Printing
in particular note therein:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The "Printing" project may contain new software
or work-in-progress changes of existing software
that might neither be in a stable state
nor fit well into currently installed systems.
Have this in mind if you think about to install
packages from the "Printing" project into your
currently running system.
Do not use "Factory" if your system is not "Factory".
Use the matching packages for your particular system.
The packages in the "Printing" project are
only for testing, without any guarantee
or warranty, and without any support.
As an extreme example, this means if your
complete computer center crashes because
of those packages, it is only your problem.
On the other hand this does not mean that those
packages are known to be terrible broken but
they are not thoroughly tested so that any
unexpected issue can happen.
In the end all software in the "Printing" project
are only applications which means that your system
should not "explode" when you upgrade with packages
from the "Printing" project (provided you use the
matching packages for your particular system) and
if a newer version does not work it would usually
help to downgrade to get it working again.
If there are issues with the packages in the
"Printing" project we appreciate issue reports.
In this case see "How to Report a Printing Issue" at
https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:How_to_Report_a_Printing_Issue
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
For general information see
http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:How_to_set-up_a_HP_printer
I assume you are a venturous openSUSE user who likes to try out
if the newest openSUSE HPLIP RPM packages "hplip", "hplip-hpijs",
and "hplip-sane" work for you.
If the issue is caused by two "Media Size" entries in the PPD file
you need to re-setup the printer so that the print queue gets
the current PPD file from the new HPLIP RPM packages.
In this case please report whether or not it works for you
(you can add comments to this bug regardless that it is
closed as "upstream" - i.e. there is no need to reopen it
only to provide feedback).
Many thanks in advance for testing it and for your feedback!
