http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=544161 Summary: No sound with HDA-Intel (with neither withour pa) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Milestone 8 Platform: i686 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Sound AssignedTo: tiwai@novell.com ReportedBy: docx@gdmt.cz QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Created an attachment (id=320940) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=320940) alsa-info.sh output User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; cs-CZ; rv:1.9.1.3) Gecko/20090909 SUSE/3.5.3-1.3 Firefox/3.5.3 FirePHP/0.3 I was upgraded my OpenSUSE 11.1 to Factory (11.2 MI8) version. In 11.2 is now no sound output. I have no pulse-audio (as in 11.1), only alsa. But I tried to install PA, completely remove and reinstall alsa packages, install latest alsa-kmp from multimedia repository, and try to install old version of alsa packages from 11.1 repository, but nothing works. Alsamixer, aplay and any other sound application (eg. mplayer) looks like sound work (no error, counting played seconds etc.) but it does nothing output. Note that, after update to 11.2, any alsa connection returns message about non existing "/etc/alsa-pulse.conf". So I was searched for it and then removed corresponding line from /etc/environment. In attachment I'm sending alsa-info report.
