Have the same error message after installation is completed, using DVD shipped
with latest c't Magazine.
Questions:
How do I apply the rpm: if booted with "Rescue" option - needed files are not
found.
How to apply the script patch listed above?
How can I run mkinitrd?
Installation seems complete, I can "Boot installed system" to see the new boot
menu. Chosing any of the entries results in the system hanging.
Please be gentle with me: only have eight years of Linux experience.
additional info: original poster solved his problem by coying initrd from
another SuSE 10.3 installation and re-writing GRUB after booting from Knoppix.

No possible solution for me: 2 other computers running 10.2 - and I don't want
to risk another non bootable machine.
TIA
Winfried
