Hi All, I just got a new box, AMD Athlon 64 2800+, and installed SuSE 9.1 on it. I'm coming from an old PII 450mhz machine where I was also running 9.1 for the past month (I'm a very recent Linux user). On the 32 bit machine, it was relatively easy to get Xine to work with DVDs, just visit packman's site and download the correct RPMs and install them. With this new 64 bit machine, no such luck. I've looked thru this lists archive back to May and noted several references to compiling from source, and other references to using the 32 bit version. The existing posts I found all assume a level of knowledge that I haven't come anywhere close to achieving yet. So, my questions. 1) Is it possible to get DVD's to play on the AMD64? 32 bit or 64 bit player, either one. 2) If so, is there a source somewhere with step by step instructions on how to accomplish that? Instructions geared to a complete newbie... Scott -- POPFile, the OpenSource EMail Classifier http://popfile.sourceforge.net/ Linux 2.6.5-7.95-default x86_64
