Yes, having it everywhere is certainly useful.

It does, but surprisingly only for a few commands. At least according to its man page - i'm too lazy to check each command in action. So i decided to enable --catalog alias for every zypper's command that supports --repo and is available in rug.
But what about naming it just --repo or --repository instead of --from-repo?
I'm completely open to this. I just wanted to give the cli parameter a bit of semantics ;-)
