In The first sorry for my English.
I´am using a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo XI1546 17# Notebook with a ATI Mobility Radeon X1800.
My Operasting System is Ubuntu 8.10 and i do the upgrade to 9.04 and then to 9.10.
From 7.04 to 8.10 i use the fglrx cause i cant bring the radeon or radeonhd driver to funktion.
Now in 9.10 ATI dont have a funktionaly driver for mi Card.So i must use the radeon or radeonhd but that Drivers dont work with my system.
I install the drivers from the ubuntu package and i install the radeonhd manually but no funktion.
When i boot with the radeonhd driver i ghet an Blackscreen with an Blinking litle rectangle in the middle of the screen and the system is frozen and i can only reboot with the Magic_SysRQ.
So please can you help me
So i hang the xorg.conf and the Xor.0.log at this Mail this xorg.conf is without DRI, when i aktivat DRI in the xorg.conf i had the same result.
I think this hand may be related to 3D (r300) rather than DDX driver (radeon/radeonhd). I don't see any "NoDRI" option for radeonhd... Hm. Could you try following trick? This will really disable your 3D accel but will give us some idea about problem. su [password] cd /usr/lib/dri/ mv r300_dri.so r300_dri.so.copy And try start X then.
