Dear devs of the radeonhd driver, I am one of the Toshiba laptop owners who are unable to run X with radeon drivers and the 4GB installed. As you know, you thought this to be a faulty mtrr setup of these laptops that could only be resolved at the kernel level. So, I brought this to the kernel ml and opened a bug about it : ML entry: http://lkml.org/lkml/2009/11/4/579 Bug report: http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14054 However, from the responses I got at the ml, it seems that kernel devs do not agree that the problem is rooted in the mtrr setups -at least with the information I am able to provide for them. So, I kindly ask your involvement in this discussion and share your opinions and knowledge on the matter with the kernel devs so that we could solve the issue affecting so many people...
