After figuring out how to use evdev for the keyboard (kbd has been broken in the Xorg git master for the past two weeks), I can report success getting radeonhd, drm r6xx-r7xx-support and r600_demo to work on this card. The card's PCI ID of 0x9509 was missing from the drm/linux-core directory, and that had to updated before Option "DRI" would work (the card in question is Radeon Mobility HD 3870 X2). Does this list maintain the drm radeon PCI ID list or should I redirect that to dri-devel? I also had to merge in the lut branch from http://yangman.ca/git/xf86-video-radeonhd or the screen would be tinted yellow. Is there any reason the lut branch hasn't been integrated yet? One of the strange things with the latest Xorg is that if radeonhd, kbd or any other drivers fails to load for some reason, the Xserver seems to get stuck in an endless loop constantly resetting the video card. You can usually use Alt-SysRq-K to kill the Xserver process but doing this sometimes leaves the video card in a state where neither the console nor the last output from the Xserver is displayed (you can see the mouse cursor on the screen right before the Xserver resets). Below is the Xorg log from the successful run, mostly posted because there are warnings about this being an unsupported card. This is a pre-release version of the X server from The X.Org Foundation. It is not supported in any way. Bugs may be filed in the bugzilla at http://bugs.freedesktop.org/. Select the "xorg" product for bugs you find in this release. Before reporting bugs in pre-release versions please check the latest version in the X.Org Foundation git repository. See http://wiki.x.org/wiki/GitPage for git access instructions.
