I guess it's A for analog and D for digital? I don't like this.
Common end-user will never know what A/D stands for. I think it's even more confusing than full "/analog" and "/digital".
Please. Anything to shorten it. I don't care if there's an /etc/X11/radeonhd.conf file that lists mappings. Just please. Seriously, how about this: DVI-1 DVI-1A DVI-1/analog DVI-1D DVI-1/digital The first one can be used when only a single monitor is attached to DVI-I_1/*, and the driver can figure it out. If you have a splitter, you have to use one of the others. The A and D names are for ease of typing, but the long names can also be used for those who like to write scripts with the full names for clarity. Though I'd still like something shorter if at all possible. Like just "D1" or just "1" for the first output, assuming the driver can figure out what's there without encumbering the user. This could degrade like this: 1 - for the one output that is there. (Common case) 1DVI - for when output 1 is split, pick the DVI output that is available (if there is only one 1DVIA or 1DVI-A or 1DVI/analog - for when output 1 is split, pick the analog DVI output. etc. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: radeonhd+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: radeonhd+help@opensuse.org
