To whom it may concern: My new video card, identified by lspci as: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV505 [Radeon X1550 64-bit], produces the following message in the Xorg log. My suspicion is that the new radeonhd driver just doesn't recognize my card. It is a Sapphire Radeon X1550 256M DDR2 AGP VGA/TVO/DVI-I.
