Although it seems that removal of xf86_ansic.h wrecks the build, I have just as much trouble if I retain xf86_ansic.h. In the latter case the build again gives no error messages, but at runtime I get a black screen when starting X and messages in Xorg.0.log about not finding any fonts.
There was a bug in git about xf86_ansic.h, but that should have been
fixed in the meantime. You can also remove xf86_ansic.h, but you have to
configure again after that. It might also be that you'd rather have to
specify that during configuring and building of the Xserver, but I'm not
100% sure about that.
