Can you also create a log with -logverbose 7 when you don't use 'HPD off'?
Attached. I also attached my xorg.conf. This is the "best" setup I could configure manually. I produced the log above after commenting out the "Option HPD off" setting and starting with "X -logverbose 7". Btw, the behavior changed. Now xrandr shows correct refresh rates when I just comment out Option "HPD" "off". And I can change resolutions. I don't know what was wrong. Maybe I specified some incorrect settings in my xorg.conf before or some of them were missing (e.g. Virtual and/or refresh rates). There is one remaining problem though without Option "HPD" "off". The VT switch is broken. The screen enters power-save mode, when trying to switch to text terminal. And it wakes up again when I switch to X. That's why I still want to keep this option set. -- Martin
