Well it's exactly the opposite. ATOM are script which don't have anythings to do with X86 opcode making execution of this kind of things really easy on others architecture like PPC.
Perhaps that was what the XBox hackers used when they made their own open source 3D drivers for the XBox 360 (Xenos GPU[0])?
The 360 uses PPC CPU.
ATOM doesn't have much to do with 3D I assume they just reverse engineered the instruction set for the shader engine, ATOM is totally endian and architecture neutral in theory however both the atom parser and the wrapper code seem to have endian bugs that the radeon driver is hoping to resolve with the help of BenH, an IBM PowerPC hacker...
