Hello,

I have been having some problems with writing to cd-rw. I fear that it may be a hardware problem, so I would like to force writing on slower speeds (like 1x or 2x, my drive only does 4x). How can I accomplish it?
you can use cdrtools (ftp://ftp.fokus.gmd.de/pub/unix/cdrecord/alpha).
Moreover, I read something about creating a ext2 filesystem in a cd-rw. Is there any reason for this being better than udf? What is the right way to format a cd as ext2?
mke2fs /dev/cdrom, or something in those lines. gustavo
