Oh, and how did you install the *.RPM?
I don't remember for sure, but I usually install an rpm by apt-get install filename.rpm (all on one line)
I would certainly have installed the 64 bit version.
apt-get? That is not an openSUSE tool. Trouble.
cnf apt-get
Program 'apt-get' is present in package 'zypper-aptitude', which is installed on your system.
Absolute path to 'apt-get' is '/usr/bin/apt-get'. Please check your $PATH variable to see whether it contains the mentioned path.
you were previously advised that the leap 15.1 rpm would work on tumbleweed. and you were provided *explicit* instructions on installing and testing it. do you choose to "go your own way" even after requesting help here?
you must remember that we are donating our time and efforts to assist you and those are completely waisted if you do not attempt them and provide appropriate feedback.
I was told to download an Epson file for OpenSUSE 15.1 and it would work fine for Tumbleweed, and that's the file I downnloaded and tried to install. I DO appreciate the efforts of all who try and straighten me out. I've been with Linux for about 15 years, but I'm not familiar with the present version of OpenSUSE, and I don't know it's capabilities, and how to use some of them. Perhaps leap15.1 is the OTHER OpenSUSE version? I have decided to use an LTS revolving version--Tumbleweed-- because I do not wish to have to reinstall every so often. This version of Tumbleweed is up-to-date as of a couple of days ago. --doug -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
