wrote: Am I right that you start a normal konsole from the start menu and when you start midnight commander from the start menu it causes the first normal konsole window to become a midnight commander window? I normally start mc from a normal konsole via command line but if I start mc from the start menu it doesn't hijack any of my konsole windows. This is on Leap:42.1 but I'm concerned because I'm updating to 42.2 shortly and I use konsole and mc for almost everything.
And I thought I had already given too many lines and words in describing my troubles ;) I have empty kde desktop. Maybe I used a konsole before. Maybe I had a normal konsole open (via start menu), maybe not. But I start mc via the start menu entry where it reads "Midnight Commander". I installed mc via zypper in mc. As soon as I startmenu mc, it opens a konsole with mc inside. I exit that konsole with mc inside via F10. I try then to start a simple normal konsole also via startmenu or via Alt+F2, and from this time on, there is no simple normal konsole coming up any more but all following konsole start attempts come up filled with mc. :( Is this actually supposed to be a normal behavior? Nobody replied on this.
No this isn't normal behaviour. The next step is to right click on the start menu icon and select edit applications which opens the menu editor and navigate to Konsole under the System catagory, click on this and post the contents of the Command box. Regards Dave P
Another possibility ... Where does KDE store (for lack of exact terms) 'last instance meta data' for Konsole, e.g. window geometry? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
