So many of your complaints could be rectified if you made use of systemsettings Under "Application Appearance", for example, you can set the various parts of the GUI to different fonts and sizes. Then there is "Font Management" which allows you to import specific font files. Personally I've found it easier to make use of zypper to import different system fonts.
