I have another partially related question. I'd like to get rid of btrfs file system. If I make a new partition and format it as ext3 or ext4 can I copy/rsync valuable data only from btrfs to that file system? Is this feasible? If yes, how to do it?
You also need to disable the snapshotting mechanisms. I presume you have this as RootFS .. In /etc/snapper there is a file called 'root'. You might want to mover that to "old.root" or something. This in turn is referenced by the line in /etc/sysconfig/snapper: # List of snapper configurations. SNAPPER_CONFIGS="root" I don't know if commenting out that line causes snapper to default to 'root', so better change that to SNAPPER_CONFIGS="" Will this all survive an update? I don't know. Is there anything else that presumes the RootFS is btrFS of course! /etc/fstab Now in my system, I boot by label and its my BtrFS that is labelled "ROOT", so I would need to change that as well. I'd make it BTROOT and label the new ext4FS "ROOT" Of course you may have things set up differently. This all is what I'd have to consider. -- A: Yes. > Q: Are you sure? >> A: Because it reverses the logical flow of conversation. >>> Q: Why is top posting frowned upon? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
