As they say, YMMV. With my camera it has problems getting a GPS "indoors", even in a wood-frame cottage/bungalow. I don't expect it to in a steel-frame +concrete-rebar building. The camera GPS also eats battery! But my phone is another matter. Light on the battery and i leave GPS on all the time, but it still lasts all day. My tablet, ditto, lasts 3 or 4 days. Better chip sets? Probably. The phone even picks up GPS in some office buildings and condos, though not in the downtown core with the jungle of adjacent hi-rises.
