SLES12 (i know this is not a SLES mailinglist but since opensuse and SLES mostly mix, i thought i would ask here). I am trying to add a physical disk to a Xen VM. So the host OS is SLES12 and the guest VM is server 2012 R2. The drive is attached to a SE3016 which is attached to a SaS 6Gbps HBA card. The host OS sees the card and drive, everything seems to be OK there. I followed https://www.suse.com/documentation/sles-12/book_virt/data/sec_libvirt_storag... to try and make the drive usable by the guest OS but even though the storage was created OK in virt manager the guest OS never could see the drive. I have asked here: https://forums.suse.com/showthread.php?6166-Rackables-SE3016-with-Xen&p=27050#post27050 I have also tried a number of suggestions found on the internet: http://backdrift.org/xen-disk-hot-add-block-device-howto http://ronaldevers.nl/2012/10/14/adding-a-physical-disk-kvm-libvirt.html among others and never could get the guest OS to see the drive. Again, i know this is not a SLES list but i would imagine the process for adding a physical drive to a Xen VM using virt manager would be, at least, close to the same. So how do you add a physical drive to a Xen VM using virt-manager?
