Especially when its someone else's Imap Server. ;-) For stuff like mailing list mail, I'm perfectly happy to let Google Gmail handle it all for me, and I don't bother keeping archives locally. The list archives are easy to search when I need it. Gmail Filters take care of the sorting into mail folders (which in Gmail's case really means "tagging".
