Howdy...
Last night I patched/upgraded flash-player from build.opensuse.org/multimedia. The version stamp on it was 11.2.202.425-160.1. Today the official opensuse patch/upgrade was released with version number 11.2.202.425-2.17.1, which is lower than the one I got from obs.
The question I have is solely for my knowledge and not to solve any problem.
Question: in opensuse, how is the versioning of such unofficial releases as the one in multimedia determined? How did the packager come up with 425-160.1 as the version number for his build?
First, Version (in the sense of RPM packaging) is 11.2.202.425 and Release is 160.1. Version field usually comes from upstream and in this case they are the same. Release field (everything after final hyphen) in case of OBS is assigned automatically by build service based on number of commits and rebuilds in each repository. Release numbers in each repository are independent and cannot be used to compare packages. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
