Very good reason NOT to run open Suse kernels. Most of the time when I have run them, I get some tainted module or another. So by saying userspace is broken -- you've just broken many instances of the opensuse kernel -- likely depending on which packages you have installed, but I would have no way of knowing any complete list. I think one of the virtual machine packages taints it, among others.
