What the heck is this all about? On my "new" laptop, I get syntax errors on commented out lines. On a file I did not create myself!
The command fails to run. So it's happening to you as well it seems.
This can be expected on a Milestone but not on a released version especially since I have been running grub2-mkconfig dozens of times wihtout a problem in the past few months.
What is bug number?
No idea. This morning there was/were patch/patches to grub2 which fixed one prblem and I can now run grub2-mkconfig against the /boot directory but not against the common bootloader (in /media/btldr/boot/grub2/ ) where it comes up with the error message: /usr/sbin/grub2-mkconfig: line 253: /mnt/btldr/boot/grub2/grub.cfg.new: No such file or directory But at least 1/2 of the problem has been rectified.
