Thanks for writing Istvan, unfortunately no joy using your idea. Per Jesson pointed out that there is a bug which is causing the device ID to be randomly assigned to each NIC, so despite the fact that you might be able to get the assignments correct one time does not mean it will stay persistent the next time you reboot.
