When I make a library on Linux (GNU tools), I can leave things undefined.
Yes you can, however you should not do this unless you have a very compelling reason or we, packagers will hate you foreva :-) Fortunately the compiler and the linker currently makes much harder to do it wrong :-D
I think that openSUSE should instead be encouraged to find these ABI compatibility violations (which are seldom documented by the developer and thus lots of work to discover) and take the corrective actions to make openSUSE better.
That's the holy grail, kinda like living in the world of happy thoughts and riding unicorns .. however that's not how reality operates unfortunately.even something at a "smaller scale" such as the LSB, which tries to define an "standard" ABI for a subset of components is gonna fail (or lets say has failed) miserably. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
