[01-10-13 10:27]: [...] rpm -q glibc identifies it as 2.14.1-14.27.1x86_64
and the package you are trying to install, apachd2-mod_fastcgi-2.4.2-39.4.x86_64 requires glibc-2.14 but your attempted install err'd wanting glibc-2.15
<quote> Then I got an error re 'conflict' vis 'Nothing provides libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.15)(64bit) needed by apache2-mod_fastcgi-2.4.2-39.1x86_64 </quote>
this doesn't fit and I notice your ver of fastcgi = 2.4.2-39.1 but the provided ver is 2.4.2-39.4
Suggest: download again apachd2-mod_fastcgi rpm -i /<path-to>/apachd2-mod_fastcgi-2.4.2-39.4.x86_64
and provide the results

Now this is interesting. I went to that link, and downloaded it, and IT INSTALLED FINE! My guess is that the link provided for mod_fastcgi for OpenSuse 12.1 in the search results, going the route of using software.opensuse.org/search , is broken in terms of possibly pointing at the wrong file? Maybe? I don't know, but I can't see any other explanation. The important thing, from my perspective, is that mod_fastcgi is now installed on my Suse virtual box, so I can play! I know I could install 12.2 in a new vbox in an hour or so, but it would take a couple days to download and install all the other stuff I use, so I don't want to go that route just yet.
