is it safe to use or recommend installing GIMP from Factory on 12.1? Never mix Factory with a stable repo as it won't work most of the time. Use software.opensuse.org/serarch to search for gimp and see if there are newer versions available for 12.1, possibly from home repositories which you have to enable by clicking on the 'Show unstable packages' link. Hey thanks. Did you mean this checkbox: Show development, language and debug packages
If that's what you meant neither GIMP 2.7 now LO 3.5 is available by selecting that option. They are there in factory though.
here's 2.7 (RC1): http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/MargueriteSu:/gimp-2.7/openS...
Tried getting this error: BABL version too old! GIMP requires BABL version 0.1.10 or later. Installed BABL version is 0.1.4. Somehow you or your software packager managed to install GIMP with an older BABL version. Please upgrade to BABL version 0.1.10 or later. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
