I am not sure if this related but when Thunderbird 10 (or wast it an update to 9 just before 10?) one of the message filters stopped working. I had to use the "Create Filter from Message" feature to have it work again.
(The strange part was that all the others, which sort incoming openSUSE mail, eg, still worked and did not require to be configured again.)

Even when I click on the "Run now" button, nothing happens. Normally, you briefly see an activity indicator in the bottom left of the panel.
BTW, I've since updated(?) to 2.7.1-2.11.1 and the problem remains.
